Gallery2 and Wordpress Integration

Its possible to combine your online albums with blogging. WPG2 is a Wordpress Plug-in that allows you to embed Gallery2 within the sidebar of the popular Wordpress blog engine. This allows you to share photos, videos and any other Gallery2 content seamlessly into both the Wordpress Sidebar and Blog entries. Stable versions are WPG2 is 2.0 for Wordpress 2.0, released on March 27, 2006 and WPG2 2.13 for Wordpress 2.1/2.2 Released in 22nd of May, 2007.

Flikr and Wordpress Integration

An alternative to integrating Gallery2 and Wordpress are the Wordpress Plugins "FAlbum" and "Flickr." These are Wordpress plugins that allow you to display the photos and photosets, hosted on your Flikr account, into the Wordpress Blog, hosted on your Weycrest web space, and make use of the Flikr API. GD Library Hosting

Weycrest Web Hosting, includes GD which is an open source code library for the dynamic creation of images by web programmers. GD creates PNG, JPEG and GIF images, among other formats. GD is commonly used to generate charts, graphics, thumbnails, and most anything else, on the fly. More information of GD can be found at libgd.org

ImageMagick Hosting

ImageMagick is a software suite used to create, edit, and compose bitmap images. It is able to read, convert and write images in a variety of formats (over 100) including DPX, EXR, GIF, JPEG, JPEG-2000, PDF, PhotoCD, PNG, Postscript, SVG, and TIFF. Use ImageMagick to translate, flip, mirror, rotate, scale, shear and transform images, adjust image colors, apply various special effects, or draw text, lines, polygons, ellipses and Bézier curves. Both Coppermine and Gallery2 make use of the ImageMagick suite of tools and as such is installed on all Weycrest Linux Servers.

Netpbm Hosting

Netpbm is another toolkit for manipulation of graphic images, including conversion of images between a variety of different formats. There are over 300 separate tools in the package including converters for about 100 graphics formats. Examples of the sort of image manipulation that can be carried out are, shrinking an image by 10%, cutting the top half off of an image, making a mirror image and creating a sequence of images that fade from one image to another. Both Coppermine and Gallery2 make use of the Netpbm libraries and as such is installed as standard on all Weycrest Linux Servers.
